Joy is a powerful force that brings strength and peace into a believer’s life. It is not just an emotion but a fetcher, something that actively brings blessings and strength.
In Philippians 4:4, the Bible tells us, ‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!’. This means joy is something we can choose and cultivate, regardless of our circumstances. When we walk in joy, we attract God's presence, peace, and favor into our lives.
Instead of waiting for joy to come to us, we can fetch it by focusing on God’s love and promises. The Bible confirms this in Isaiah 12:3, which says, ‘With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation’. This means that joy is a virtue that allows us to receive the full benefits of God's salvation; peace, healing, provision, strength, and many more.
Joy also fetches strength and victory in tough times. Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us, ‘The joy of the Lord is your strength’. This means that when we choose joy, we receive supernatural strength to face challenges. Jesus said, I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:11). His joy is not temporary or dependent on circumstances, it is something we can actively receive and walk in. When we fetch joy by trusting in Him, we experience a deeper, unshakable peace that carries us through life.
Please be reminded that joy is not just a response to good things; it is a spiritual key that unlocks the fullness of our salvation and sustains us in every season of life.
So, let us always rejoice and be glad!
We love you and God loves you much more.
